PG&E Celebrates Earth Day and Arbor Day by Volunteering at Family-Friendly Events
In celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day, PG&E is visiting communities to promote safe planting near our equipment. This is part of our effort to empower Californians with knowledge and tools to choose the right tree and place to safely plant near overhead and underground utilities. By working together, we can keep trees and plants away from PG&E equipment to help reduce wildfire risk, prevent unplanned power outages and maintain reliable service.
During these events, PG&E will be sharing educational materials, such as area-specific planting guides, and giving away Right Tree, Right Place goodies, including kid-friendly activities. We will also be donating assorted plants to encourage customers to practice safe planting while beautifying their homes and neighborhood.
Join us at one of these upcoming events to learn more about our Right Tree, Right Place program. Trained PG&E team members will be there to answer your questions about safe planting.

“We are excited to celebrate with our communities and spread awareness that planting safely is more than just having the right gardening tools. Planting safely means knowing what and where to plant so we can keep our families, neighbors and communities safe for years to come,” said Vegetation Management Supervisor Kelly Herzog Williams.
Earth Day is a global event that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness on how we can work together to protect the planet. In the United States, Arbor Day is a nationwide effort to plant trees across the country. These events, held each year in late April, serve as a reminder of how we can take action to maintain and create healthy, green environments.
